@BassDrop

Isn't it pointless to answer a one year old post?

@ everybody else:
Please go to JasJack67 post for the new page.

Marco

Only because i felt good doing that. I know of The Survivalist already

Hey, I know this is an old thread, so ill understand if I get no reply. But I downloaded the file, and my computer can not extract it. It seems to think there are no files inside the zip? Is that just me or is this download corrupted?
Is this mod no longer available to play?

This mod is dead for a long time. A new version of the mod can be found here: http://www.unrealsoftware.de/forum_posts.php?post=337277#jn

old where do I find this for download now?

Of the two links provided, the first yields a 371 byte file, the second sends all of my anti-virus alarms ringing. I think I understand there is a new Massive Mod (I am still playing the one from several years ago).

I found the Survivalist--is this the same? If so, then Unreal Software really ought to delete the old posts pointing to the virus-infecting site (iivid?). Wouldn't want you to get stained by having links to malware sites!

After I was starting to get burned out on the original Stranded 2, I found "The Survivalist" (I think it derives from Massive Mod right?) All around, GREAT game love the new content. Only one thing though. I *hate* the mechanics for prospecting. You could have done nearly anything at all and it would have been better. It takes way way way too long to uncover deposits, and when digging for iron for example I dig up stone deposits over and over and over and it takes literally days and days (in game) to find iron. But thats the only thing I don't like everything else is awesome!

Hi. I know this is an old thread. But I'm not seeing massive mod in the mods list. I used to play s2 back in highschool days and loved the game. Decided to revisit. But not finding the massive mod. The link in last post here doesn't work. Any alternative?

Old? Try ancient. 7 years old is... well, not as ancient as egyptian mummies, but it dates back to the very beginning of my modding days. However, I have the knowledge you seek, and I am not one to speak on the topic of bumping old threads myself, so I will point you to several alternatives I recommend.

• The Survivalist, by user JasJack67, is the current continuation of massive mod, with a different name, managed by a different guy. It's a great game, from a survival standpoint, though it may take some time to get the hang of some things. From a modding or performance standpoint it has a few... inconveniences. Editor is disabled, it tends to lag for some people, not all the options and abilities are very straightforward (though user JasJack67 tends to be fairly quick to answer questions, which helps), and the scripts are a bit on the hefty side considering they are written in s2s, and if memory serves they were not written very much with efficiency or neatness in mind, but I would have to verify that. Oh, also, when Editor is enabled (which can be done via a simple edit to game.inf), a lot of the things don't even have icons so... there's that. It also takes a long time on startup for some reason. Essentially, though, it's built for survival and not much else, hence the name. It's good for hard-core players, but path dependence is kinda built into the way it is developed. Anyway, as a survival game, it is quite enjoyable, and has an abundance of features and systems which make the quest for survival come to life.
However, as a modding platform or modding resource, my opinion of it is not as high. Working with it gives me a headache and maybe colon cancer. Since you are probably not a modder that should not be an issue though.

• Stranded II Enhanced, by me. I made it. Self promotion time! Ok, anyway... I used some resources from both massive mod and the survivalist when making it. Aaaand basically about every other mod for Stranded II in existence (I remember quite literally searching the threads and file archives for mods that I hadn't already used, to make sure I got all of them). Basically, I took every object, unit, and item in every existing mod I could find, checked if it met my fairly high standards for quality/aesthetics, along with considerations for usefulness and coolness, and put them in my own mod. Same with maps and scripts. I gave credit where it was due, of course. Anyway, my technique of extracting the best part of other mods is the underlying meaning behind my name: ModJuicer. It's what I do. And the result? Well, it's a big mod, with lots of stuff, where you have the freedom to do basically anything if you wish. Except for some stuff, but I'm working on that. All functionality of vanilla Stranded II remains, because deleting preexisting features everyone has come to expect is a dick move. There's working tanks, planes that drop bombs, maps which have nukes which launch using their own targeting script (in one map they target the player, in one they target some various objects, and in one they target a monkey), tank/quad and tank/car combos, and that's just the stuff I 3d modeled and scripted myself (besides the plane 3d model, and the tank 3d model to some extent, which others did). Did I mention the modular building system? You can build custom tree houses, fire pits, huts, shelters, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Also tower defense now has two stages, the first being normal tower defense and the second stage being zombie mode, where things go dark, ghosts of the animals killed in the first stage will randomly appear and dissappear, and instead of regular animals there are zombies to defend against, and there are extra upgrades for the towers. Oh, and I even merged some source code so alt-tabbing doesn't make everything go black, and a buggy multiplayer is playable. Anyway, it's a mod with lots of fun possibilities, that I spent way too much of my time developing. Download link is in my signature.

Aaand I may be able to find a working link to massive mod, but it's kinda old and obsolete nowadays, so idk if that is what you want when funner options are available. I can take a quick look if you insist, though.

I'm sure I highlighted both of those insufficiently, and I suggest trying them before taking my word for it. Also, maybe there are some other cool mods that I missed.

Please, if someone has the latest MM version put it somewhere to download or just send me. The only working link I found there is a version with many bugs, like 0 raptors in hard mode, grills charcoal cannot be taken off without rebuilding the whole grill again to have more space for meat etc., I remember playing this years ago without these problems. Don't redirect me to The Survivalist, it's too laggy to have any fun from playing this. Thank you.
