Offline1) I enjoy the less competative atmosphere of the game, it fun and you can have bot matches or online. Personally I'm more of a bot man myself.
2) It's free
3) My ISP won't allow us high bandwith usage, so I try to play games that aren't too "big". CS2D will use less bandwidth than 3D.
4) It's less competative than 3D.
And obviously becuase I find it a good game!

P.S. The real reason is because "CounterStrike 4D" isn't invented yet!

3. It's a small game, which is a good thing because
you can download other stuff without fear of CS2D taking over alot of space on your computer, and it makes it faster downloading CS2D as it is small anyway.
4. It's easy editted, you can make skins and mods very easy because it's in 2D which makes it easier then 3D.
So this makes it very friendly to those who are new to reskinning and making mods.
5. The map editor is also newb-friendly as it is very simple and easy to use, but a challenge to make a succesfull map.
This all is what the original CS doesn't have

I just find Counter-Strike 2D as a superb 2D game with 3D generated effects and sounds.
And it's really fun to play it sometimes.
but 3d is not legally free I usually play 3d because it is just a good.. 2d had just come to too boring came. ;P but a max version would be pretty good.

2. I start first playing CS2D, because it was a free shooter game. So I enjoyed it, I never really thought to try 1.6. So I ended up trying 1.6, I enjoy CS2D more. although I do own 1.6
So I can't think of too many reasons, other than it is a better game in my opinion.
All of these Games are published by Valve and you can play them via STEAM

DC cares about his game and he is actually active on the forums unlike alot of games out there, he also works alone on his games and he hasn't give up!

Well I believe its because of how long Max is taking and stil hasnt come out yet but...its inching torwards Finish everyday
That's kind of sad tho..
You can't just blame the maker of a game because it takes long for him to make a new game.
Don't forget that DC is working alone, and somewhere he stated that he works in the army. What surprises me is that the maker of CS2D is actually active on the forum, and like I've said before, that's something you will rarely encounter on any other games out there.
Also, DC has his info page about CS2D Max and he informs us alot and he is very active there also, it looks like something is added everyday, if he didn't made the whole info page about CS2D Max, then the work on CS2D Max would be much faster, but I think he just wants to inform some of us impatient people and people that are about to quit CS2D by making an info page about CS2D Max, so people won't quit and be excited. It's all about keeping the CS2D community steady from not falling apart.
