I'm jumping into the middle of the discussion, but is there any chance to make at least some of your old games open-source, user DC? Like Stranded I or Carnage Contest?

I gotta say that was quite the strawman there @user Pagyra: i doubt you have any experience with programmers other than second hand speak from people who probably know just as little as you.

do some research before you share your generalising opinions.

Programmers arent all narcissistic pricks, even if you seem to think so (because they dont listen to your ideas)

@user Avo: Some of my older projects (Stranded I, Stranded II and an older version of CS2D) are open source already and can be downloaded here: http://www.unrealsoftware.de/dev.php
Be aware though that these source codes are indeed quite old and - in a retrospective - also quite bad. I even used German comments in some (all?) of these source codes I think.

Also, once again: If someone is interested in how certain things in my closed projects work just ask. I've got nothing to hide and I'm willing to share nearly everything.
The only exception from that is knowledge which would help hackers/cheaters/attackers to more easily destroy my multiplayer titles. This is also the main reason why CS2D and CC (both multiplayer) are closed source.

we have no expectation from you @user DC: , i just wanted to thank you for all good moments that i spent in this lovely game, i played tons of games but i still think its one of the most creative/funny games that i ever played, and i have to mention that game has a lot of potential itself, i am ready to pay for it indeed !
quality of a game is not all about having good graphic, as you know!
the idea of the game is pure and promising. as you said game still has players after 15 fcking years, its very rare, there is something about this game that i feel we all know.

love you, komeil flame

@user DC: Another huge fan of CS2D here from China. I may late to the party(picked up this game when it release on Steam 600+ hours now) but still have tons of fun playing it. I'm fighting with depress for a long time. However I can alway find a peaceful space when playing this game. I help organized several matchs in the cn community. So many good moments I won't forget. So many friends I made in the game. Now I'm learning code to make my first indie project...Think about this for a moment: The game you create reach so fxxking far, all the way around the world to China, to a small city you never ever heard of, change a kid's life in such a huge way(also thousands of people like me all around the world). I just want take the time to appreciate you for all the work you've done, seriously. I have no expectation for further update on CS2D. It has been great and that's what matters. Wish you all the best. Have fun making new project

Well i guess the steam greanlight did serve a purpose, it brought in some new permanent faces from all over.

Always great to hear the spread of the community here.
