Anyway, all I can suggest is that you read PIL ( Programming In Lua ) and learn about the standard features available to you as a Lua user, once you understand these things you need to come up with creative ideas ( don't make an administration script, there are MILLIONS already. Unless you can really make it greater than the sum of it's parts ) that people will enjoy. You also need a decent education, you will probably need to know some trigonometry and linear algebra some time in your adventures.

To be a good scripter you have to write your scripts being smart in such a way that looking at your code inspires other scripters... or something like that.
Yea, start with simple scripts!
